Inspiration for your holiday decorations can come from many places: magazines, historic homes or public buildings. Just down the road in Manchester is Hildene, the summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln. The home is open for tours in the summer and during the holidays it is open for a few magical evenings for candlelight tours. To decorate Hildene we kept with tradiitional materials, elegantly arranged.

Pine roping wound simply up a lamppost and topped with a bright bow adds a festive, almost whimsical, touch to an otherwise ordinary object. This idea works well with fence posts too.
